Hope, patience and prayer

Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer.

Romans 12:12 (KJV)

Reflection

Paul gives three short instructions that belong together. Hope lifts our eyes beyond what we can see today. Patience steadies us when trouble lasts longer than we expected. Prayer keeps our hearts close to God through every challenge.

These are not signs of a life without difficulty. They are how faith keeps going in the middle of it. We do not need to rush or pretend. We can rejoice in what God has promised, endure what we cannot yet change, and keep talking to Him.

Today, name one hope God has given you and thank Him for it. Then bring one ongoing trouble to Him in prayer, and choose one patient response instead of a hurried one.

Let hope lift your eyes. Let patience steady your pace. Let prayer keep your heart close to God. Even one quiet, faithful choice can renew your strength and show His grace to others.

To consider

What trouble is lasting longer than you hoped, and how can you meet it with hope, patience, and prayer today?

Prayer

Lord, help me rejoice in hope, be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. Lift my eyes, steady my pace, and keep my heart close to You. Amen.
